The power cable should be disconnected by one of two
methods. Either a plug socket combination that is
interlocked with a combined switch or a fixed
disconnect that provides relief from mechanical strain
on connection points should be used. Both methods
must comply with the authority having jurisdiction at

the point of installation and/or the National Electric
Code, article 400-5, EN60204 section 15.4.3. The
service disconnect mechanism should be between
2 and 6 feet (0.6 to 1.9 m) above the floor and should
be easily accessible.
