For Exchange 2007™:

Ensure your domain names follow Microsoft naming conventions for Active Directory and for fully
qualified domain names (FQDN). For more information, see Microsoft documentation on Active
Directory and FQDN naming conventions.

Additional requirements for managing Exchange 2007 CCR and SCC Servers

To manage Exchange 2007 CCR and SCC Servers across multiple Active Directory domains, you
must store the appropriate login and password in the Windows user account on the backup server.

1.

On the backup server:

In Windows 2008, click Start

→Control Panel→User Accounts and click Manage your

network passwords. In the Stored User Names and Passwords dialog box, click Add.

In Windows 2008 R2, click Start

→Control Panel→User Accounts and then click Manage

your credentials

→Add a Windows credential.

2.

In the Log on to field (or, for Windows 2008 R2, the Internet or network address field), enter
the network location to which you want automatic access. You can use a wildcard if you want
access to multiple computers on a domain. For example: *.aztec.com

3.

Enter the appropriate login and password.

4.

Repeat these steps for all Exchange Server domains in the Recovery Manager configuration.

Registering Domains

You need not register the local domain. To register an additional domain:
1.

Use the Recovery Manager GUI or the HpRmCli Exch RegisterDomain CLI command.

For more information, see

“Registering Nonlocal Domains” (page 42)

or

“HpRmCli Exch

RegisterDomain

” (page 84)

.

2.

If you used the CLI command to register the domain, refresh the GUI.

After you register a domain, the Recovery Manager GUI displays the FQDN of the registered
domain in the node tree pane. You can now add mailbox/Exchange servers and Windows
hosts to the domain. For more information, see

“Managing Domain Components” (page 31)

.

Modifying Domain Credentials

To modify the credentials stored for a domain, use the Recovery Manager GUI or the HpRmCli
Exch ModifyDomain

CLI command.

For more information, see

“Modifying Domain Credentials” (page 42)

or

“HpRmCli Exch

ModifyDomain

” (page 76)

.

Unregistering a Domain

1.

Remove all mailbox/Exchange servers and Windows hosts from the domain.

Recovery Manager does not allow you to unregister domains that contain HP 3PAR Recovery
Manager for Exchange components.

2.

Unregister the domain using the Recovery Manager GUI or the HpRmCli Exch
UnRegisterDomain

CLI command.

For more information, see

“Unregistering a Domain” (page 42)

or

“HpRmCli Exch

UnRegisterDomain

” (page 96)
