Changing the port setting of the external storage system

You can change the setting of the port of the external storage system in the Edit External WWNs
window.

CAUTION:

If the default setting has no problem, use the default setting as it is.

For the volume used in usual I/O, set I/O Timeout within 15 seconds.

For changing the setting, match the value to the recommended value of the external storage
system.

To change the port setting of the external storage system:

1.

Click External Storage in the Storage Systems tree.

The list of available external storage systems appear in the tree.

2.

Select the External Paths tab.

3.

Select the external storage system.

4.

On the menu bar, click Actions, External Storage, and then Edit External WWN Parameter.
The Edit External WWNs window opens.

5.

Change the set parameter of the selected port on the Edit External WWNs window.

6.

Click Finish to display the Confirm window.

7.

Confirm the settings and enter the task name in the Task Name box.

8.

Click Apply in the Confirm window.

Editing mapping policy

You choose mapping policy when you map an external volume as an internal volume using the
Add External Volumes commands. This section explains how to edit the default mapping policy.

To edit the mapping policy:

1.

Click External Storage in the Storage Systems tree.

The list of available external storage systems appear in the tree.

2.

Select the External Storage Systems tab.

3.

Select the external storage system.

4.

On the menu bar, click Actions, External Storage, and then Edit Policies. The Edit Policies
window opens.

5.

Edit the settings in the Edit Policies window.

6.

Click Apply.

Deleting external volume mappings

You can begin deleting the external volume mapping. Though you can delete the setting of mapping
for an internal volume and an external volume using the Delete External Volumes command, you
cannot delete data in the external volume. You cannot delete data in the internal virtual volume,
either.

You can also delete the external volume mapping by using a spreadsheet (see HP P9000
Spreadsheet Guide
).

Check the following before deleting external volume mappings.
