consistency group pair-split at a specific time

With a consistency group, you run operations and change pair status on a group of pairs.

With the consistency group pair-split feature, you define a specific time to split pairs in a consistency
group. This allows you to copy data from the P-VOLs in the consistency group to the S-VOLs
simultaneously. The S-VOLs will contain the same data as the P-VOLs when the operation is
performed.

Note the following requirements and restrictions.

RAID Manager is required to run this and all operations on the pairs in the consistency group.
If pair operations have been performed from Remote Web Console following creation of the
pairs in RAID Manager, consistency group pair-split cannot be used.

The consistency group pair-split can be used when BC primary volumes are shared with Cnt
Ac-J or Cnt Ac-S S-VOLs. See

for information.

When Business Copy P-VOLs in a storage system are shared with Continuous Access Synchronous
or Continuous Access Journal secondary volumes, you can use the consistency group pair-split to
keep Business Copy S-VOLs consistent. The following illustrate the consistency group pair-split with
Continuous Access Synchronous and with Continuous Access Journal.
