NOTE:

Any change to the Date and Time Settings section causes the KMS Server to restart, which takes the

KMS offline for a few seconds.

NTP Settings

Use the NTP Settings section to enable NTP, establish the NTP servers, set a polling interval, and

synchronize the SKM on demand.

Figure 109 Viewing the NTP Settings section

The following table describes the components of the NTP Settings section.

Table 89 NTP Settings section components

Component

Description

Enable NTP

Click inside the box to enable automatic NTP synchronization on the SKM. A check

mark inside the box denotes that the feature is enabled. When the NTP feature is

enabled, the SKM synchronizes the time with the time on the NTP servers at the

interval specified in the Poll Interval field.

NOTE:

When this feature is enabled, you cannot manually set the time or date on

the SKM.

NTP Server

Specify the IP address of the NTP server on the network. You can list as many as

three NTP servers. When clocks are synchronized, the SKM polls all the servers listed

to determine the correct time.

Poll Interval (min)

The poll interval, expressed in minutes, is the length of time between consecutive

polls. The minimum value for this field is 5; the maximum value is 10080 (one week).

This value must be a multiple of 5. If you attempt to set a value that is not a multiple

of 5, the SKM rounds down to the nearest multiple of 5.

Edit

Click Edit to modify the NTP settings.

Synchronize Now

Click Synchronize Now to synchronize the clock on the SKM immediately.

NOTE:

The Synchronize Now button synchronizes the clock on the SKM even when

automatic NTP synchronization is not enabled.

Configuring the network

The Network Configuration page allows you to edit the network information for an SKM. This chapter

contains the following information:
