Common maintenance tasks

The following tasks are the most common tasks for maintaining your IO Accelerator.

NOTE:

All commands require administrator privileges. Log in as root or use sudo to run the

commands.

Uninstalling the IO Accelerator driver package

Linux
To uninstall the IO Accelerator driver package in Linux, enter the following command.
For 1.2.x systems:
$ rpm –e iodrive-driver
For 2.x systems:
$ rpm -e iomemory-vsl
Windows® operating systems
To uninstall the IO Accelerator Windows® driver:

1.

Go to Start > Control Panel.

2.

Click Administrative Tools.

3.

Click Computer Management.

4.

In the console tree at the left, click Device Manager.

5.

Expand HP IO Accelerators.

6.

Right-click the desired IO Accelerator.

7.

Click Uninstall. The Windows® operating system uninstalls the driver.

VMWare ESX
To uninstall the IO Accelerator ESX driver:

1.

Enter the following command to find the driver vibID:
$ esxupdate query --vib-view

2.

Enter the following command to remove the driver using its vibID:
$ esxupdate -b <vibID> remove

Disabling auto attach

When the IO Accelerator driver is installed, it is configured to automatically attach any devices when the
driver is loaded. Sometimes you might want to disable the auto-attach feature.
Linux
To disable auto attach using the Linux init script:

1.

Edit the following file.
For 1.2.x systems:
/etc/modprobe.d/iodrive
