ParaDyme Line Acquisition Tuning – Screens 4 through 9
What is Line Acquisition mode compared to AB line holding mode?
When in Line Acquisition mode the ParaDyme system is trying to acquire the AB line, not hold the AB
line. In this mode the ParaDyme vehicle controller only uses Steering and Heading and ignores Cross
Track Error. The ParaDyme controller switches from Line Acquisition Mode to Line Holding Mode
approximately 2 seconds after cross track error is less than 6 inches. After that the ParaDyme vehicle
controller is in AB line holding mode.
How does the ParaDyme System do Line Acquisition?
In line acquisition mode the vehicle controller lays out 2 different arc paths to follow.
1) The Min Curvature arc path starts when the vehicle is 3 to 6 feet from the AB line.
2) The Max Curvature arc path starts when the ParaDyme system is engaged and ends when the
vehicle is 9 feet 12 feet off the AB line.
NOTE: The path between the two arc paths is a transition between the two paths. Figure 12 shows
an example of the arc paths for a ParaDyme System.
