Screen 6 of 9 – LINE ACQUISITION – Max Curvature
What is Curvature?
Curvature represents the radius of an arc. By definition, curvature is
1
Therefore:
To make a turn “tighter” Æ decrease radius Æ increase curvature
To make a turn “looser” Æ increase radius Æ decrease curvature
What is the Max Curvature?
When the ParaDyme system is engaged, it creates an arc path to acquire the AB line. The radius of this
arc path is defined by the Max and Min Curvature settings. Max Curvature is the radius of the arc when
the vehicle is greater than 3 to 6 feet off the AB Line, see figure 12.
What does the Max Curvature slider adjust and when to adjust it?
The slider adjusts the curvature of the arc ParaDyme uses to acquire the AB line when greater than 6
to 9 feet from the AB Line.
• Increase Max Curvature when the vehicle takes too long to get to an AB Line, see figure 5.
• Decrease Max Curvature if the vehicle gets to an AB Line too quickly and overshoots the AB
Line, see figure 5.
