In CAMERA mode, set 16:9WIDE to CINEMA or 16:9FULL in

in the menu settings

(p. 107).

To cancel the wide mode

Set 16:9WIDE to OFF in the menu settings.

In the wide mode, you cannot select the following functions:
– Old movie *

– Bounce

During recording
You cannot select or cancel the wide mode. When you cancel the wide mode, set your
camcorder to the standby mode and then set 16:9WIDE to OFF in the menu settings.

Connection for a TV (DCR-TRV140 only)
Pictures recorded in the 16:9WIDE mode automatically appear on the TV screen at full
size when:
– you connect your camcorder to a TV that is compatible with the video ID (ID-1/ID-2)

system.

– you connect your camcorder to the S video jack on the TV.

ID-2 system (DCR-TRV140 only)
The ID-2 system sends a copyright protection signal with ID-1 signals inserted between
video signals when you connect your camcorder to other equipment by the A/V
connecting cable.

In the wide mode (CCD-TRV308/TRV408/TRV608, DCR-TRV140 only)
The SteadyShot function does not work. If you set 16:9WIDE to ON *

in

the menu settings when the SteadyShot function is working,

flashes and the

SteadyShot function does not function.

Date or time indicator (CCD-TRV107/TRV108/TRV308/TRV408/TRV608 only)
When you record in the 16:9FULL mode, the date or time indicator will be widened on
wide-screen TVs.
