CAUTION

The work area should be well ventilated.

Provide adequate lighting in the work area to allow
observation of the cleaning process and the floor
area around the machine.

Be sure to allow adequate room to bring work to and
from the machine. Provide sufficient clearance around
the machine for fluid changeovers and servicing.

Installation

DMD Models Only: Position light on rear of
cleaning tank. Lift lock ring and lower light onto
bracket post. Release lock ring and check that
light is secure on tank (Fig. 1, page 12).

Fill drum with Graymills Super Agitene® or compa-
rable cleaning fluid with a flash point of 104°F or
higher. Drum must contain enough fluid to sub-
merge the pump, but should not be filled above
top drum bead.

Fluid Capacities:

Model DMS 232

5 - 10 gallons

Model DMS 236

10 - 20 gallons

Model DMD 232

5 - 10 gallons

Model DMD 236

10 - 20 gallons

Place cleaning tank of top of drum (Fig. 2, page 12).

Raise tank cover and place stop rod into fusible
link on cover. The cover should lean forward to
assure that it will drop shut in the event of fire
(Fig. 3, page 12).

Slip cloth filter bag onto drain cover. Position
drain cover with filter bag in tank drain opening
(Fig. 4, page 12).

DMD Models Only: Lower pump into drum by
releasing the cable from bracket on right end of
tank and allow the pump to slowly pull cable into
opening at left end of tank (Fig. 5, page 12).

Plug light and pump power cords in bottom of

electric box (Fig. 6, page 12).

Unit is now ready for use.

WARNING

Insert 3-prong plug into a properly grounded 115 V,
60 Hz, 1 phase outlet.

Turn light on (DMD Models) and flip toggle switch
on right side of tank to start fluid recirculating.

NOTE

The light has a switch located on top making it possi-
ble to operate pump with light off.

MAINTENANCE

CAUTION

Before performing any maintenance on this unit
be sure to disconnect electric power.

To extend fluid life and increase cleaning efficiency,
unit should be cleaned regularly. Metal drain cover
and cloth filter bag should be cleaned daily.

To change cleaning fluid proceed as follows:

Remove tank from drum, dispose of solvent prop-
erly, wipe out tank and drum and refill drum with

fresh cleaning fluid.

DMD Models Only: The pump supplied with this
parts cleaner is retractable to protect it as well as
to facilitate fluid changeovers.

Raise pump by pulling cable straight out as far as
it will go. Be sure to pull the cable straight out of
the hole in order to avoid scraping cable against
sleeve opening. Repeated scraping will cause
cable to fray and weaken.

Swing the cable over to opposite end of tank and
insert into holding bracket. This will secure pump
into circular ring. Pump DOES NOT hang down,
and therefore lift is much less (Fig. 7, page 12).

CAUTION

Always dispose of used cleaning fluid properly.
Refer to the cleaning chemical manufacturer’s
package label for instructions.
