2 Part names and their functions
2.1 Option configuration
No. Name Description
1 Main unit The original is scanned by the scanner section, and the
scanned image is printed by the printer section.
The main unit is hereinafter referred to as "the ma-
chine", "this machine", "main unit", or bizhub 42/36
through the manual.
2 Authentication Unit AU-201 Performs user authentication by scanning information
recorded on the IC card.
The Working Table WT-510 is required to install the
Authentication Unit AU-201.
This unit is hereinafter referred to as the Authentica-
tion Unit through the manual.
3 Working Table WT-510 Provides an area to temporarily place an original or
other materials. This is also used when the authentica-
tion unit is installed.
4 Desk DK-511 By using the Desk, you can install this machine on the
floor.
This unit is hereinafter referred to as the Desk through
the manual.
5 Paper Feed Cabinet PC-211 Allows you to load up to 500 sheets respectively in the
top and bottom trays.
This unit is hereinafter referred to as the Double Paper
Feed Cabinet through the manual.
6 Mount Kit MK-601 Required when installing the Finisher FS-529.
7 Finisher FS-529 Install this unit onto the output tray of the main unit to
sort, group or staple printed paper before feeding out.
The following options are built inside this machine and are not shown in the figure above.
8 Fax Kit FK-509 Allows this machine to function as a fax machine.
