Automatic Shutdown

Installing the Automatic Shutdown

When Windows NT Server 4.0 or Windows 2000 Server is installed using the 'Server
Setup TooL', the 'Automatic Shutdown Subsystem' (ASD) is installed automatically.
To install the Automatic Shutdown Subsystem manually from the SST CD-ROM,
follow the procedure below after installing Windows NT Server 4.0 or Windows 2000
Server.

1.

Start Windows NT Server 4.0 or Windows 2000 Server and log on to the system as
the
Administrator (or as a user having equivalent rights).

2.

Insert the SST CD-ROM.

3.

Open the command prompt.

4. Change the current directory to the following:

<CD-ROM>\PUBLIC\UTILS\TOSHIBA\ASD

5. Enter the following command:

SETUPASD INSTALL

6. Restart the system.
7. Verify the ASD /Remote indicator lamp is green.

The Automatic Shutdown can now be used.

Removing the Automatic Shutdown

1.

Log on to Windows NT Server 4.0 or Windows 2000 as the Administrator (or as a user
having equivalent rights).

2.

Open the command prompt.

3.

Enter this command:

C:\>SETUPASD UNINSTALL

4.

Press <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Delete>, select "Shutdown", then select "Reboot the system after
shutdown". Do not press any buttons.

5.

Verify that the ASD/Remote indicator lamp is orange.

The Automatic Shutdown cannot now be used.
