3. Basic Configuration

VLAN: VLAN stands for Virtual Local Area Network. It is a technique allows one or more
physical LAN routers or APs to deliver packets as if they were a single physical router or
AP.

DiffServ Marking: Enable DiffServ Marking to have better traffic prioritization and
bandwidth management.

Disable SSID Broadcasting: Select this check box to hide the SSID.

Security Policy: Select security policy. “None”, “WEP”, “802.1x”, “WPA”, “WPA-PSK”,
“WPA2”, “WPA2-PSK”, “WPA-AUTO” or “WPA-PSK-AUTO”.

QoS stands for Quality of Service which attempts to provide different levels of quality to
different types of network traffic.

WMM stands for Wi-Fi Multimedia. WMM defines quality of service (QoS) in wireless
networks. WMM improves audio, video and voice applications transmitted over wireless
networks. WMM adds prioritized capabilities to wireless networks and optimizes the
performance when multiple concurring applications.

To Enable WMM, WMM Parameters of Access Point and Station are indicated. The
following information is listed: AC TYPE (AC_BE; Best Effort) (AC_BK; Background)(AC_VI;
