401. Position the bottom of the

PAX tire at the edge of the table
top, allow the table clamps to
engage the tire tread. Move the
tapered roller down to intersect the
tread. Make sure the large diame-
ter is facing out.

While at this position it is also

a good time to complete the PAX
gel application to the inside of
the tire.

402. Engage the tapered roller’s

end flange near the front edge of
the tire tread.

403. Use the roller system to

apply a downward force to the tire
tread as shown. This will ovalize
the bead opening of the tire.

405. Apply a small amount of

rubber lubricant to the front side
beads between the 3 o’clock and 9
o’clock position.

406. Grasp the insert with the

retaining rim clips (UP) and force
the support ring inside the tire.

407. Note the support ring retain-

ing clips. Also, the support ring
may identify the outside to inside
orientation.

408. From the front side of the

tire, begin to rotate the support
ring (UP) into the tire.

409. Move to the back side of

the tire and begin to force the sup-
port ring into the tire by using the
lift bar on one side.

410. Continue the back and forth

lever action until the support ring is
inside the bottom of the tire.

411. Move back to the front side

of the tire and use the lift bar to
lever the top of the support ring
into the tire.

Remove any rubber lubricant
from the inside area of the tire
as this can contaminate the
PAX gel allowing it to reposi-
tion and affect tire balance.

Remove any PAX gel from the
tire bead area as this could
result in tire to rim slippage
and ultimately affect tire bal-
ance.
