INFICON - Operating Instructions EXTRIMA

1. Connect the Hand Probe to the

instrument front using the probe
cable.

2. Switch on the power by pressing

the right button for a few seconds.

The red and green LED indicators
lights up for a few seconds and
then the red LED goes out and the
green LED starts to flash slowly. The
green LED on the hand probe starts
flashing slowly. The display on the
detector lights up and an indicator
bar shows that the sensor is stabilis-
ing and the detector is booting up.

3. When the stabilisation period is

over (typically 90 seconds) the leak
detector is ready for operation.

On the detector the green LED stays
on. The green LED on the hand
probe stops flashing. The display
will start in

Detection Mode, Ana-

lysis Mode or Combined Mode,

depending on which mode was used
when the detector was switched off.

NOTE:

Avoid exposing the probe

to hydrogen during the stabilisa-
tion period.

CAUTION!
The instrument is water-proof, but
the sensor has to be protected if
there is a risk of contact with wa-
ter or other liquids. See ”Water
protection” on p. 31.

Shut down

To shut down Extrima, press the right but-
ton for a few seconds. The display shows:
”Shut down Extrima?”
Press YES. Abort shut down by pressing
NO.
