Once this control is disabled, you must attain the Configuration access level to
re-enable it.

If the “Allow exclusive control at any access level” control is not enabled, and
you assign exclusive control to the handset, the access level automatically
changes to Operator.

How to Assign Exclusive Control to a Handset

1. If necessary, assign a handset to the station.

On the Tools menu, click Station Options and use the Handset Options tab
to select a handset.

Note

If the handset is assigned to another station, a “Could not connect to...”
error message appears. In this case, you must use the Station Options
window in the other station to change the handset assignment of that
station to None.

2. In the Station Manager window, clear the Exclusive Control check box.

3. On the handset, press

(Exclusive Control).

An asterisk (*) appears on the handset display to indicate that the
handset has exclusive control.

The Exclusive Control check box in the Station Manager window is
unavailable (dimmed).
