Handset Setup Procedures

How to Select a Handset
Use the Station Manager application to select the handset that you will use with
the station.
Note When the handset is not assigned to a station, the handset display
shows "MTS Systems" and the firmware version.
1. Start the Station Manager application.
2. In the main Station Manager window, set the access level to Operator.
3. On the Tools menu, click Station Options.
4. In the Station Options window, click the Handset Options tab.
5. From the Handset list, select the handset that you want to use.
Note If the handset is assigned to another station, a “Could not connect to...”
error message appears. In this case, you must use the Station Options
window in the other station to change that handset assignment of the
station to None.
6. To disable exclusive control on the handset:
• Press (Exclusive Control) to disable exclusive control on the
handset.
or
• Use the Station Options window in the Station Manager application to
change the Handset list selection to None.
7. You can now go to another station and select the handset.
How to Set the Thumbwheel Speed
Use the Station Options window to control how fast the actuator moves when
using the thumbwheel.
1. Start the Station Manager application.
2. On the Tools menu, click Station Options.
3. In the Station Options window, click the Handset Options tab.
4. Use the Thumbwheel Speed slider control to set the speed that works best
for your system.
