Auto-Negotiation switch is in the “Disable” position). The
recommended mode is “Full-duplex” (factory setting).

“Pause” Switch:
This switch controls the “Pause” advertising of the
FlexPoint Gx preferred mode of operation (when the
Auto-Negotiation switch is in the “Disable” position). The
recommended mode is “Enable” (factory setting).

“Link Isolate / Link Propagate” Switch:
When set to the “Link Prop.” (factory setting), the link
state is propagated from the UTP port to the fiber port
and visa versa. This allows the loss of link to be
propagated and detected by SNMP or other network
managed devices and it facilitates Spanning-Tree
network reconfiguration during a cable failure.
When set to “Link Isolate” the generation and detection
of link presence is done at each point-to-point segment.
It should be noted that when in “Link Prop.” mode, the
absence of received UTP link causes the transmitted
fiber link to be turned off. The absence of received fiber
link causes both the transmit and receive UTP link to be
turned off. This mechanism prevents a “deadly
embrace” when both links are absent initially during
power-up and configuration.

is intended to be and must be used only with a
Listed Direct Plug-In Power Unit marked “Class 2”
and rated at 9VDC, 1 Amp.

2. This product should only be used only with Omnitron

Supplied Power Unit model number 9113-PS.

Mounting and Cable Attachment:
The FlexPoint Gx can be stand-alone-mounted using a
wall-mounting kit (model 4380). It can also be rack-
mounted using a 5-position shelf (Model 4392) or a
high-density 14-unit FlexPoint Powered Chassis (AC
powered model 4395 or 48VDC powered model 4385).
Attach the FlexPoint Gx UTP via a category 5 or higher
cable to a 1000Base-T Ethernet device.
Attach the FlexPoint Gx fiber via a single-mode or
multimode (as needed) cable to a 1000Base-X Gigabit
Ethernet device (make sure to use the correct wavelegth
source for the model being used). The FlexPoint transmit
(Tx) must attach to the receive side on other device; the
receive (Rx) must attach to the transmit.

Switch Settings:

“Auto-Negotiation” Switch:
Setting the switch to “Enable” (factory setting) enables the
UTP port to determine the duplex and pause modes
automatically. Setting the switch to “Disable” causes the
mode of the Duplex and Pause switches to be advertised
to the connected device. The recommended mode is
“Enable” (factory setting).

“Full Duplex/Half Duplex” Switch:
This switch controls the half/full-duplex advertising of the
FlexPoint Gx preferred mode of operation (when the
