7 Gate Terminal Block Signal Definitions

Table 2. Gate Terminal Block Signal Definitions

Signal Name

G-89 Gate

Terminal

Description

Lockout/Arming
Common

1

Common terminal for Lockout dry contact. This is field
wired to Unitec Gate Controller terminal 11 (24VDC+). Gate
contact from Terminal 1 to 21 becomes CLOSED when the
gate is up.

Lockout/Arming
Normally Open

21

Normally open for Lockout dry contact. This is field wired to
the corresponding Gate open input of the Unitec Gate
Controller terminal (31,32,33 or 34). Gate contact from
Terminal 1 to 21 becomes CLOSED when the gate is up.

Isolation relay coil +

57

Red Wire to
Relay

Relay coil + for the 24VDC isolation relay that is installed
onto the gate. This relay is an optional component to an
APE gate that Unitec has installed custom for this
application. This is field wired to Unitec Gate Controller
terminal 11 (24VDC+).

Isolation relay coil -

58

Black Wire
to Relay

Relay coil - for the 24VDC isolation relay that is installed
onto the gate. This relay is an optional component to an
APE gate that Unitec has installed custom for this
application. This is field wired to Unitec Gate Controller
terminal (51,52,53 or 54). The Unitec Gate controller PLC
will sink this output to 24VDC- when the corresponding gate
open signal is activated (Y4,Y5,Y6 or Y7). Note: To test the
Gate open functionality, In the Unitec Gate Controller
terminal strip, short terminal 10 to the corresponding lane’s
gate open terminal (51,52,53 or 54). DO NOT short terminal
58 to the gate 0V terminals (49-56).

Isolation relay contact
common

49

Typically a white wire, this is tied to the G-89 Terminal 49
(0V)

Isolation relay NO
contact

42

Typically a green wire, this is tied to the G-89 terminal 42
(Vend 1). When the Unitec Gate controller energizes the
coil on the relay, the relay shorts G-89 Terminal 42(vend 1)
to 49(0V) to open the gate. Shorting Terminal 42 to 49 with
a jumper wire will open the gate, testing the G-89 gate
bypassing the Unitec Gate controller and the Isolation relay.

Note: Do not connect the Unitec Gate Controller power or ground to the G-89
Power or ground system. These two power systems should remain isolated by
use of the Isolation relay.
