Marker Shear Bolt Replacement
Refer to Figure 60
If a marker gets caught or hits an obstruction, it is
designed to fail a shear bolt
at the fold, pivot on a sec-
ond bolt
, and swing back.
The shear bolt
is a hex head cap screw,

-16 x 2in
Grade 2, Great Plains part number 802-266C, plus a
3
⁄
8
-
16 lock nut, Great Plains part number 803-013C.
Install a replacement shear bolt on the vertical faces on
the side opposite from the pivot bolt.
Do not use a higher grade bolt, or marker hang-ups may result
in machine damage.
Note: Do not use a smaller or lower grade bolt, or you
may experience nuisance shears.
Marker Transport Carrier
When marker is folded, the second section should rest in
transport-carrier saddle.
Refer to Figure 61
To adjust front-to-rear position of saddle, loosen the

x7in U-bolts
that fasten transport-carrier mount onto
box frame. Slide transport-carrier assembly forward or
back as needed.
To adjust height of saddle, loosen

x2in U-bolts
hold carrier tube to mounting bracket. Slide carrier tube
up or down as needed.
