Removing an FCM

  

Replacing an FCM

Flash Cache Modules (FCMs) are internal memory cards that help improve the performance of your computer. You can install FCMs in either the WWAN or WPAN
Mini-Card slot.

If you ordered an FCM card with your computer, the card is already installed.

 

Removing an FCM

 

1.

Follow the procedures in

Before Working on Your Computer

.


 

2.

Close the display and turn the computer over.

 

3.

Remove the bottom of the base assembly (see

Removing the Bottom of the Base Assembly

).


 

4.

Remove the left hinge cover (see

Removing the Hinge Covers

).


 

5.

Remove the M2x3 screw from the FCM card.

The card pops up to a 45-degree angle.

 

6.

Slide the FCM card at a 45-degree angle out of its connector.

NOTE:

FCMs are compatible with Windows Vista® operating system only.
