Removing the Power Module

1.

Follow the instructions in

2.

Close the display and turn the computer over.

 

3.

Remove the bottom of the base assembly (see

).


 

4.

Remove the coin-cell battery (see Removing the Coin-Cell Battery).

 

5.

Remove the hard drive (see

Removing the Hard Drive

).


 

6.

Remove the optical drive (see

).


 

7.

Remove the LED cover (see

).


 

8.

Remove the keyboard (see

).


 

9.

Remove the speaker/fingerprint reader cover (see

10.

Remove the fan (see

Remove the processor thermal-cooling assembly (see

16.

Remove the three M2.5 x 5-mm screws labeled with white arrows from the system board.

 

17.

Pull out on the top left corner of the base assembly to release the power, USB, and serial connectors.

Remove the system board (see

19.

Disconnect and unroute the power cable.

 

20.

Remove the power connector from the base assembly.

CAUTION:

Do not remove the wireless card, memory module, or processor from the system board.
