Troubleshooting

• If the system does not power on, check the LED display. If the power LED

is not on, you may not be receiving AC power. Check the AC power cord to

make sure that it is securely connected.

Troubleshooting External Connections

Ensure that all external cables are securely attached to the external

connectors on your sled before troubleshooting any external devices. See

Figure 1-1 for the front-panel connectors on your system.

Troubleshooting a Sled

CAUTION:

Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You

should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your
product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and
support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered
by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the
product.

1 Ensure all cables are properly connected to the server enclosure.
2 Ensure that the sled is fully seated. See "Closing the Sled" on page 29.
3 Ensure that the sled are properly installed.
4 Ensure that all components are properly installed and free of damage. See

"Installing System Components" on page 25.

5 If the sled fails to power up, see "Getting Help" on page 77.
