Removing the Coin-Cell Battery

CAUTION: Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS settings to default.

It is recommended that you note the BIOS settings before removing the coin-cell
battery.

Prerequisites

1

Remove the back cover. See "Removing the Back Cover" on page 17.

Remove the system-board shield. See "Removing the System-Board Shield" on
page 31.

Procedure

1

Locate the coin-cell battery socket. See "System-Board Components" on page 15.

2

Press the securing clip away from the coin-cell battery until the coin-cell battery
pops out.

3

Lift the coin-cell battery out of its socket.
