Check the A network printer... radio button and click Next.

Check the Connect to this printer (or to... radio button and type the printer name defined on the host computer in the Name field (or browse to find the
printer). Click Next.

 

6.

A sharing warning is displayed, click Yes to proceed.

 

7.

Printer drivers download to the client PC. Choose if the printer is to be the default printer or not and click Next.

 

8.

The printer appears in the Printers and Faxes window ready for use.

 

For Windows Vista

 

Setting Up the Host Computer

 

1.

Click the Start® Control Panel® Hardware and Sound and click Printers.

 

2.

Right click your printer icon.

 

3.

Click Properties.

 

4.

Click the Sharing tab.

 

5.

Check the Share this Printer box.

 

6.

Fill in the Share Name field and click OK.

 

Setting Up the Client Computer

 

1.

Click the Start® Control Panel® Hardware and Sound and click Printers.

 

2.

Click Add a Printer.

 

3.

Click the Add a Network... button. Windows searches for available printers and lists them in the window.

 

4.

Select the required printer and Click Next.

 

5.

A sharing warning is displayed, click Yes to proceed.

 

6.

Printer drivers download to the client PC. Choose if the printer is to be the default printer or not and click Next.

 

7.

The printer appears in the Printers window ready for use.

 

Printing a Document

Your printer prints documents using the Graphic Device Interface (GDI) printer driver. When you install the Dell software, your printer automatically installs the
GDI printer driver.
