Setting Up the Storage Center

To validate Virtual Port Mode FC port changes

After all Fibre Channel Fault Domain and Virtual Port changes have been applied, the
configuration is automatically validated. If the valid at on is successful, the confirmation
dialog shown in Figure 20 on page 27 appears.

If there are no warnings, click Continue to proceed with setup by going to

Step 13:

Generate SSL Certificate on page 43

If there are warnings, click Configure Local Ports to modify the configuration and
correct any issues that cause warnings. Refer to

Configure Virtual Port Mode Local Ports – iSCSI

1 Click the iSCSI tab to select the iSCSI display.

2 Use the the dropdown menus and buttons to open dialogs that enable you to edit fault

domains and Virtual Ports, or to reset the defaults if you do not want to keep you edits.

To use dropdown menus

Purpose: Allows you to set the purpose for a port. Valid values for port purpose vary by
transport type and by operational mode.

FC and iSCSI

Port purpose is not yet defined, or the port is
unused.

Front End

Port is connected to servers and is used for the
server IO path.
