Watching a TV program while recording another
You can watch a TV program and record another at the same time.

Press TV/ VTR to turn off the VTR indicator in the display window.

If the TV is connected to the VCR using the audio/video cable, set th(
TV to TV input.
If the TV is connected to the VCR using only the antenna cable, skip
this step.

Select the desired channel on the TV.
Recording stereo and bilingual programs
stereo programs
This VCR automatically records stereo programs in stereo. When stereo
programs are received, the STEREO indicator on the VCR lights up. If
noise occurs while receiving a stereo program, record the program in
monaural. Follow the steps below.
Bilingual programs
Normally, this VCR records main sound on both main and normal
audio tracks. To record SAP (Second Audio Program) sound on normal
audio track, follow the steps below.

Press MENU and select ADVANCED OPTIONS.

• For information on how the
VCR records sound, see
"How sound is recorded on
a video tape" on page 25.
Note
• Set NORMAL AUDIO to
MAIN when not recording
SAP sound, or no sound is
recorded on the normal
audio track. If no sound is
recorded on the normal
audio track and you play the
tape on a mono VCR, you
will see only video—no
audio will be heard.
However, you will receive
both audio and video if you
play back this tape on a
stereo VCR.
