Selecting Audio
Options
0 As a shortcut to using the
menus, use the ® button on the
inside panel of the remote control to
select the TruSurround effect for
Dolby-surround encoded programs.
The Audio Menu includes the following options:
Option
Description
Treble
Adjust left or right to decrease or increase higher-pitched sounds.
Bass
Adjust left or right to decrease or increase lower-pitched sounds.
Balance
Adjust left or right to emphasize left or right speaker volume.
Speaker
Custom selection of
audio output source
On:
Select to listen to the sound from the TV speakers alone or the
TV speakers and a separate stereo system.
Off:
Select to turn off the TV speakers and listen to the TV's sound
only through external audio system speakers.
Audio Out
Easy control of
volume adjustments
This option can be set only when the Speaker option is set
to Off.
Variable:
Sound output varies according to the TV settings. Useful
when you want to use your remote control to control the output
separate audio system.
Fixed:
Sound output is held at a fixed level. Use your audio
receiver's remote control to adjust the volume.
Effect
Customize sound
effect based on
the program's
audio type
TruSurround:
Produces a virtual surround effect for Dolby-
surround enc">ded programs.
Simulated:
Adds a surround-like effect to mono programs.
Off:
Normal stereo or mono reception.
MTS
Enjoy stereo,
bilingual and mono
programs
If you are tuned to an analog program, the MTS Menu presents
these options:
Stereo:
Select for stereo reception when viewing a program
broadcast in stereo.
SAP:
Select to listen to a bilingual broadcast. (Non-SAP
programs will be muted when this feature is selected.)
Mono:
Select for mono reception. (Use to reduce noise during
stereo broadcasts.)
If you are tuned to a digital program that provides audio options,
MTS presents the options
Main
and
Sub.
