Using the Learn
Function
You can program the remote control to learn the functions of another
manufacturer's remote control. Use this function to operate equipment that is
not listed in "Programmable Codes" on page 58.
1 Set the slide switch in the inside panel to VTR3 or DVD/MDP.
2 Place the DTV's remote control and the other manufacturer's remote
control directly facing each other, about two inches apart.

Press LEARN. The Learn indicator lights.
Press one of the learning buttons (see illustration) on the DTV's remote
control that you want to learn a function. The Learn indicator flashes off,
then on, indicating that the DTV's remote control is now ready to learn.
Hold down the corresponding button on the other component's remote
control. When the Learn indicator flashes off, then on, release the button
on the other component's remote control.
If the indicator doesn't fla,->h, repeat steps 4 and 5.
To learn other functions, repeat steps 4 and 5.
About the Learn Function
U The Learn function does not work in the VTRl and VTR2 slide switch
positions.
□ During the learning procedure, do not move the remote controls.
□ If you press a button on this remote control that cannot be used for
learning, the Learn indicator flashes four times.
U To clear all learned signals from memory, set the slide switch inside the lid
to DVD/MDP, press LEARN, press the TV POWER button while holding down
the VOL- button, and then press LEARN again.
_| When you remove the batteries — to replace them, for example — any
codes you've set may be erased.
