STEREO MIC & HEADPHONES Terminals

Optional external microphones (MM-200 Stereo Mixing Microphone,

ZM-lOO Stereo/Zoom Microphone, see p.64) may be used in place of the

regular microphone to achieve special sound recordings.

Replacing Microphone with External Microphone

Pull out the camera microphone.

• Make sure the camera is turned off.
• Handle microphone by the base only and not by the foam tip.

Attach external microphone to accessory shoe on camera.

Accessory Shoe

Insert external microphone plug in camera STEREO MiC
and DC OUT terminals.

• For details, refer to MM-200, ZM-100 instructions.
• When using a commercially available microphone, be sure it is a stereo

microphone.

Connecting Headphones

Connect commercially available stereo headphones to the HEADPHONES

terminal to monitor stereo sound.

• Monitoring is only possible when camera is in record or record pause

mode.

Recording Using a Tripod

Use a tripod especially in the following cases:

• Telephoto recording

• Recording during auto tracking

• Macro recording

• Self-timer recording

• Recording using wireless controller

• Interval timer recording

Note:

• Be sure to protect the viewfinder from direct sunlight, otherwise the viewfinder will melt.
