A Do not continue using the camera if it (or the batteries) become unusually

hot, emits smoke or an unusual smell.

This could result in a fire, or burns.

While taking care not to injure yourself, remove the batteries and consult
your dealer immediately.

Dispose of batteries properly.

When disposing of batteries, cover the contact

terminals with tape to insulate them.

Always insert the batteries with the correct + and - polarity.

The batteries

(dry batteries) may be damaged, causing them to leak, emit smoke or flames, or
cause injury.

Do not cover the flash unit with your fingers or hair.

Do not touch the flash

unit if it is used continuously as this could result in burns since the flash unit can
become hot with continuous use.

Never use the flash when the camera is pointing towards the driver of a

vehicle.

This could cause an accident.

Do not attempt to repair, disassemble, or modify the camera yourself.

The

camera contains high voltage parts that could result in electric shock if they are

touched. Refer all inspections, maintenance, and repairs to your dealer, or Canon

sen/ice facility.

Do not touch the inside of the flash unit if the casing splits due to the

camera being dropped etc.

Never touch components inside the camera, or

flash unit, if they become exposed. These areas contain high voltage parts that
could result in electric shock if they are touched. Refer all inspections,

maintenance, and repairs to your dealer, or Canon service facility.

Keep the camera out of reach of infants and small children.

Children could

choke if the strap becomes entangled around their neck.

Always use the specified charging procedure when using the camera with
the rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries.

Otherwise the batteries may be damaged,

causing them to leak, emit smoke or flames, or cause injury.

Observe the following precautions for the rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries. If these

leak, emit smoke or flames, or cause injury:

• Do not soider the batteries.
• Do not damage or remove the exterior casing.
