8.2. Replacing the Removable HDD Tray

The HDD, the expansion cards, and the Lithium battery are located in an “OPERATOR
ACCESS AREA”. The area behind the access door (Error! Reference source not
found.
, pos. 2) designed as “OPERATOR ACCESS AREA” may only be opened for
installing/removing of HDDs, expansion cards, or replacing the Lithium battery by
qualified specialist personnel according to the description in this user’s guide.

Fit the “SATA 0” drive location always first if your system has to be operating with
one HDD drive only (refer to Error! Reference source not found., pos. 4)!

Perform the following procedure if you are replacing (removing/installing) the SATA HDD:

Close all applications; shut down the system properly and disconnect the power cord from

the power source.

2.

Lay down the hard disk tray on a clean and ESD protected workplace.

3.

Loosen the knurled screw on the left side of the unit that secures the access door (refer to

Error! Reference source not found., pos. 1 and pos. 2) and open access door.

4.

Disconnect the SATA cable and the SATA power connector (Error! Reference source not

found., pos. 7) from the rear side of the installed HDD (refer to Error! Reference source not
found.
, pos. 3).

5.

Loosen the captive knurled screws (Error! Reference source not found., pos. 2) that

secure the drive tray to the chassis and pull-out the HDD tray (Error! Reference source not
found.
, pos 1) from the system (see Fig. 8, pos. 10).

6.

Remove the four screws (two screws on each side) that secure the HDD to the drive tray

(refer to Error! Reference source not found., pos. 6) and Error! Reference source not found.,
pos. 10). Retain the screws for later use!

7.

Slide the drive(s) out of the tray.
