3.4.2 Host Table / SNMP Settings

Use the Host Table and SNMP Settings menu to set access levels for hosts and destinations for traps.
You can set the access and trap community for various IP addresses. By default, a trap community is
"public" for the Read Community and "private" for the Write Community. To access the Host
Table/SNMP Settings menu, see Figure 10 and follow these steps:

1. From the System Menu, type

, Host Table / SNMP Settings, and press <Enter>.

2. To add or modify one of the eight IP addresses, follow these steps:

a. Type a number from 1 to 8.

b. At the prompt, type the IP address and press <Enter>.

c. Press <Tab>, then press <Space> to cycle through the Access options for Telnet, SNMP, or

both, and then press <Enter> to confirm.

d. Press <Tab>, then press <Space> to cycle through the SNMP Access level options for read,

write, and trap, and then press <Enter> to confirm.

e. Press <Tab>, then to set the Trap Community, type

public

or

private

, and press

<Enter> to confirm.

f. Press <Tab>, then type the number of the destination port for management Traps and press

<Enter>; default is 162.

3. To set the Read Community, type

5. To Send Alert Traps, type

, press <Space> to cycle between Yes and No, then press <Enter> to

confirm.

7. To Disable Traps From a source, type
