7. Start the download. The process sends the upgrade directly to the inactive Flash location.

8. When the TFTP client indicates the transfer is complete, close the TFTP program.

9. To activate the new software revision, reset the 9135, then return to the Description screen to

verify that the new Software Revision is listed as active and the old version remains in the
inactive Flash.

3.13 Update the Software Through FTP

To verify the software revision currently stored in the Flash memory and used by the 9135:

1. From the Main Menu, type

and press <Enter>. The Reports menu appears.

2. From the Reports Menu, type

and press <Enter>. The Description screen appears.

3. Record the version numbers for Software Revision Flash1 and Software Revision Flash2.

4. To check if a newer version of the software is available, access www.canoga.com. Click

Downloads and scroll to the 9135. The last digits of the filename indicate the version number; for
example, 9135GII0330.img indicates firmware version 3.30.

5. If the web site lists a newer version than is available on your 9135, use the FTP Client on your PC

to download the upgrade file and to the 9135. Start the FTP Client to begin the upgrade, then
enter data for the download:

Note: These are general steps for the FTP utility. For details, see the documentation for your FTP

Client.

6. On the 9135, access the IP Settings screen, select

, Enable Download, then select either FTP

only or TFPT and FTP.

7. Start the FTP Client and change to the directory were the upgrade is stored.

8. To start the download, enter

ftp xxx.xxx.x.xx

where xxx.xxx.x.xx is the IP address for the

9135.

9. At the prompt for the User, enter

supervisor

in lower case, then at the prompt for the

password, either enter the password for supervisor access or, if no password has been set, enter

password

. You must enter a password, even if no password is set.

Note: If the login fails, enter

quit

and restart the FTP client or enter

user

and repeat this step.

10. At the prompt, type

dir

and check the file names for the Active and Inactive software. These

are the versions in the active and inactive Flash memory.

11. At the prompt, enter

binary

to enable the file transfer format.

Note: To view the file transfer progress, type

hash

.

12. To start the transfer, type

put 9135GXXXX.IMG

where XXXX is the version number.
