OTHER FEATURES
PICTURE SEARCH OPTIONS
The most basic way to search during playback is using the FORWARD
(FWD) and REVERSE (REV) buttons. This section contains several other
options available for searching a tape.
FORWARD AND REVERSE SEARCH
You can search a tape during playback. Sound is turned off during
picture search. Search works best for tapes recorded at the SP or SLP
speed.
1. Press FORWARD (FWD) to search forward or REVERSE (REV) to
search in reverse.
2. Press FORWARD or REVERSE again or press PLAY to return to
normal playback.
SLOW MOTION
You can view a tape in slow motion from the play-pause mode. Slow
motion works best for tapes recorded at the SP or SLP speed.
1. Press PAUSE to "freeze" the action. Then press FORWARD (FWD)
or REVERSE (REV) to begin slow-motion playback.
2. Press FORWARD to increase or REVERSE to decrease the speed of
the slow-motion playback.
3. Use TRACKING up or down to remove any streaks from
the picture.
4. Press PLAY to return to normal playback.
The VCR switches automatically from slow-motion playback to
stop after a few minutes.
COMMERCIAL SCAN (SEARCH BUTTON)
This is useful for sfcipping commercials or short program segments.
•
Press SEARCH once during playback to advance the tape
approximately 30 seconds of recorded material.
•
Press SEARCH to cancel commercial scan and return to normal
playback.
Insert Tape
Don't forget to insert a recorded
tape when using the search features.
