Blocking Specific Content Themes
You can block programs based on their content. When you block a
content theme for a particular rating, you automatically block that
content theme for higher rated programs as well.
For example, if you do not want your child to watc:h programs that have
adult language (L) rated IW-PG or higher, then you could block otit all
programming IWPG and above containing adult language.
To block program content;
1. Determine the lowest level of content you don’t want the child to
watch.
2. Use the up and down arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the
age-based ratings that correspond with the lowest content you do
not want the child to watch. (In the examjrle altove, you woitld
highlight IW-PG.)
3. Press the OK button to change content status from (V) Viewable to
(B) Blocked. All higher ratings’ content rhemes change to Blocked.
Notes: Broadcasters are not required to provide content themes
or age-based ratings.
You must remember to lock the TV as described above for rating
limits to take effect.
To view ctintenr themes after you’ve lalocked them, follow the same steps
as above to make the content Viewable (V). Note that if you unblock the
language correspondi.ng to lA'-PG, for example, the language for T\'-MA
doesn’t get unblocked. You have to ttnblock each content theme for each
rating separately.

V-Chip Movie Rating Limit
Y'ou set movie (MPAA) rating limits by blocking movies ,i:ated above a
specihed rating. How to block and view movie ratings is explained in the
next two sections.
To access the V-Chip Mcnie Rating menu:
1. Press MENU on the remote control (the Main Menu appears).
2. Select Channel Setup. Enter yoirr password if necessaiy.
3. Select Parental Controls.
4. Select USA V-Chip.
5. Select V-Chip Movie Rating.
