Windows 95/98
Overview
Use this section to install and configure the RocketPort or
RocketModem driver for the Windows 95 or Windows 98 operating
systems. This driver supports the following products:
• RocketModem
• RocketPort
• RocketPort 485
Note: The readme.txt file that is delivered with the driver may contain
additional information not published in this Guide.
For information regarding the specific capabilities of your RocketPort
or RocketModem adapter, see the documentation that is packaged with
each Comtrol hardware product.
Installation Prerequisites
Before you begin installation, note the following:
1. This guide assumes that you have already installed the Windows
95 or Windows 98 operating system (OS) and that you have an
understanding of OS operation. This product was developed and
tested using both Windows 95 and Windows 98. These instructions
were developed using Windows 95; Windows 98 prompts and
screens may differ slightly.
2. The installation procedures differ depending on whether you are
installing a PCI- or ISA-bus RocketPort or RocketModem. If you
need help determining which type of adapter you have, see the
Hardware Installation Card that came packaged with the adapter.
3. If this is an initial installation (installing the adapter and driver for
the first time), go to Installing the New Driver on page 14 and
perform the procedures listed there in the order given.
4. If you have already installed earlier Comtrol RocketPort or
RocketModem software on this system, see Updating or Removing
an Existing Driver, below.
