9. Repeat Step 8 for the other three screws.

Note: The communications module
becomes loose after you have removed the
fourth screw.

10. Once you have removed the old module,

set the new communications module in
place on the Field PC, as shown here.

communications module

11. Replace the four communications module

screws as follows:

First turn the device upside down so the
handstrap latch hangs below the Field
PC (see Fig. 5).
Place a screw head on the tip of the hex
wrench to position the screw in place.

Lift the Field PC to eye level.
Insert the screws into the screw slots, as
shown in Figure 5.

Figure 5: Replacing the screws

Tighten each screw loosely before
inserting the next screw. After all of the
screws are in place, go back and tighten
each screw firmly.
CAUTION: It is possible to over-tighten
the screws and strip the screw hole
threads. To avoid this, tighten the
screws using the long end of the hex
wrench on the screw heads as shown
in Figure 3. If you accidentally strip the
threads, contact your service center to
schedule a repair.

12. Replace the body molding and four side

screws. To properly seal the body molding
on the Field PC, tighten the screws until
they become snug and then apply an extra
1/8 turn.

13. Replace the bottom latch of the hand strap.
