There are two methods of redialling: Manual redialling and Automatic redialling. This section explains these two
methods.

Manual Redialling

Press Redial/Pause to dial the last number you dialled with the numeric keys. (This starts redialling regardless
of whether automatic redialling is enabled.)

Cancelling Manual Redialling

To cancel manual redialling while the machine is dialling, press Stop/Reset. CANCEL DURING TX/RX?
appears in the LCD, so press 4 (–) for YES.

• If you press Stop/Reset while scanning the document, STOP KEY PRESSED PRESS OK KEY

appears in the LCD, so press OK to cancel manual redialling.

Automatic Redialling

The fax automatically redials after the first attempt at sending fails (e.g. the line is busy).
The number of redialling attempts and the time interval between attempts can be adjusted by changing the
settings in the AUTO REDIAL. Automatic redialling can also be set off and on. (

If all attempts are unsuccessful, the machine cancels the transmission and prints an ERROR TX REPORT.

Cancelling Automatic Redialling

• If you want to cancel a transmission while the machine is waiting to redial, you must delete the

document from memory using Memory Reference. (

Wait until the machine begins redialling.

Press Stop/Reset.

• The machine asks you to confirm that you want to cancel.

Press 4 (–) to cancel redialling.

• If you change your mind and want to continue redialling, press e (+) for NO.
• The machine prints an ERROR TX REPORT. (
