Mapper Setup
All file names, associated with the current mapping session, are assigned in Mapper setup. You
cannot collect data without a Map File name. Table 5-2 describes each parameter in more detail.

Parameter
Description
Map File
Mapping data is stored in this file. Mid-Tech file type (GMF).
Background File
A previously mapped GMF file that can be viewed in the background.
Base Map File
A Geo-tif file, typically a USGS Quadrangle. This file must be in WGS-
84 Latitude and Longitude coordinate system.
Collection Interval
Sets the rate of data collected; typically 1 second. Choices are 1, 2, 3,
4, and 5 seconds.
