Command Modes

POS or IEEE 802.17b based RPR interface configuration

Usage Guidelines

For GFP and high-level data link control (HDLC) modes, the POS shutdown causes a path alarm
indication signal (AIS-P) to be sent to the peer. In RPR-IEEE mode, AIS-P is not inserted toward the
peer.

In this command, shutdown can be shortened to shut.

Examples

In this example, interface is shortened to int.

Router(config)# int pos 0

Router(config-if)# shut
