Gearbox Configuration File Layout
A Gearbox configuration file is used by the Optical Modulation Analyzer
application to properly map the bit pattern provided as the input to the
system. This file is divided into three sections:
Definition
Bit symbol mapping and delay
Symbol coordinates
The file is based on Microsoft’s information file format (.inf). Sections are
represented by an uppercase word enclosed in square brackets. Names
should not be modified. Values are represented by a name, followed by
“=” and the values. Multiple values are separated by a tab (ASCII 09).
The application provides predefined configuration files for all supported
modulation schemes. These files are located in the following folder:
\My Documents\EXFO\PSO-200\GearboxSetups
You can edit the files using any text editor. The Mapping section of the file
can also be modified from the Optical Modulation Analyzer application.
