CANCELLING A SONG (THE CLEAR FUNCTION)

This function allows you can delete Song or MIDI File by selecting the Song number (111 - 117) and follow-
ing the instructions about the CLEAR function given in the “SONG STYLE” chapter. You can choose whether
to cancel the entire fi le (ALL), the tempo (TEMPO), the Common track (COMMON), any of the 16 tracks se-
lectable with the TEMPO/DATA keys. To perform this application, move to the desired mode, then proceed
to CLEAR by pressing the RECORD buttons in the Sequencer and confi rming with ENTER.

MELODY OFF

The MELODY OFF keys is plays the Song back excluding the melody. This is
particularly useful if you wish to sing along with the backing or to play the
melody in real time on the keyboard. The status of this function is shown in
the leftmost indicator in the display.

Use this function to listen to all songs contained in the Floppy Disk without loading in
the instrument memory. Once you have inserted a Floppy Disk into the Disk Drive, press
PLAY ALL SONGS to start the playback

PLAY ALL SONGS

Most of the Songs loaded from a Floppy Disk will have all tracks engaged by the Sequencer. You can check
about this immediately by observing the display: if all tracks are active, including tracks from 9 to 6 (use
the F9 function key to toggle between the two group of tracks), you will see that no track is free to play
along with the Song in Real Time. If one or more tracks are off, it means that they are not engaged by the
Sequencer. If you wish to play along with the Song in Real Time, you can either:

ASSIGN ANY OF THE SEQUENCER TRACKS TO THE REALTIME CONTROL

The track indication is turned on steadily: it has now been reassigned to
the Sequencer.

Select a Song and press PLAY/STOP to start playing

Check how many tracks are controlled by the sequencer.

Select with the function buttons 1-9 any of the active track

The volume bargraphs will start blinking, indicating that the track is now
active.

NOTE: When the volume of a track is set to MIN, the display will always
show one Volume bar.

Press again the Function button corresponding to the active track. The
number relative to the sound of the selected track is turned off. The
track stops playing.

Press the same key once again

The track indication starts blinking. The relative track is no longer engaged
by the sequencer: it is now possible to play in Real Time during the Song.

Play on the keyboard

The sound assigned to the sequencer track is now controlled directly by
the keyboard. Now you can play in Real Time during the Song
