Programmable Logic
On ATCA-8330, the programmable logic is embedded in two FPGA devices. For reusability
reasons, the programmable logic is written in Verilog HDL. For details, refer to
Glue Logic on
page 127 and DSP Glue Logic on page 129 .
6.1 Glue Logic
The programmable logic required on ATCA-8330 resides in an FPGA. It implements special
functions as follows:
 LPC Bus Interface
 SPI interface connected to IPMC and SPI bit-stream flashes
 SPI boot flash control
 Reset controller
 Interrupt Masking, Routing, and support of SERIRQ
 Serial Line Routing
 Miscellaneous Registers (Post Code Register, Version Register)
 Support persistent memory (ADR)
 Support of several board control / status signals
 Power-up CPLD update
 DSP FPGA update
 DSP FPGA Register access via CPU (DSP SPI master interface)
 DSP FPGA Register access via IPMC (DSP I2C master interface)
 Port80 Debug Led control
Some of the internal functions are connected to the LPC bus via the corresponding bus
interface to the internal local bus and some other internal functions are connected to the IPMC
SPI interface.
