Replace the retaining cap by tightening it snugly by hand to insure there are no
water or gas leaks between the nozzle and the cap.

If the cap does not go on easily, clean the threads on the torch body and the retaining cap
and apply a small amount (see step 2 above) of silicone grease to both O-rings located just
below the threads of the torch body.

Note:

Failure to tighten the retaining cap snugly (or to keep the threads and current ring
clean) will result in coolant water and gas leaks around the upper nozzle O-ring,
impairing cut quality. However, the retaining cap should be tightened by hand
only.

Problems and causes you may find with a defective or improperly installed water tube:

Short electrode life: Water tube not screwed in tightly

Flow switch interlock shutting down the system: Water flow restricted due to loose

water tube

Humming or rattling sound coming from the torch: Water tube bent or loose

If you suspect a problem with the water tube, you may need to replace it.
