Do not blast IPS e.max Press object

Etch with IPS Ceramic Etching Gel for 20 seconds.

Allow Monobond Plus to react for 60 seconds and

dry with air.

Preparing the pressed object made of IPS e.max lithium disilicate glass-ceramic (LS

2

)

To prepare the pressed object for cementation onto the Ti base, please observe the following procedure:
– Do not blast the IPS e.max Press object to prepare it for cementation.
– Clean the pressed object in an ultrasonic cleaner and blow dry or use a steam cleaner.
– After cleaning, any contamination of the bonding surface must be prevented, since contaminations negatively

influence the bond.

– To protect the outer surfaces or the glazed areas, wax may be applied.
– Etch the bonding surface with 5% hydrofluoric acid gel (IPS Ceramic Etching Gel) for 20 seconds.
– Subsequently, thoroughly rinse the bonding surface under running water and dry with oil-free air.
– Apply Monobond Plus on the cleaned bonding surface and allow to react for 60 seconds. After the reaction time,

dry the remaining residue with water- and oil-free air.

Apply wax to protect the outer surfaces.

Blast the bonding surface.

Allow Monobond Plus to react for 60 seconds

and blow dry.

Preparing the meso-structure made of zirconium oxide (ZrO

2

)

To prepare the meso-structure for cementation onto the Ti base, please observe the following procedure:
– Secure the meso-structure on a holder before blasting to facilitate handling (e.g. Microbrush).
– To protect the outer surfaces of the meso-structure, apply wax.
– To better control the blasting procedure, colour the bonding surface of the meso-structure with a permanent marker.
– Blast the bonding surface of the meso-structure with Al

2

O

3

100 µm at max. 1 bar / 29 psi pressure and at a

distance of max. 1-2 cm to the blasting nozzle.

– Clean the meso-structure with the steam cleaner or in an ultrasonic bath (enthanol bath).
– After cleaning, any contamination of the bonding surface must be prevented, as contaminations negatively

influence the bond.

– Apply Monobond Plus on the cleaned bonding surface and allow to react for 60 seconds. After the reaction time,

dry the remaining residue with water- and oil-free air.
