Description
The IPS e.max

®

Abutment Solutions Cem Kit is a profes-

sional kit containing high-quality materials for the
cementation of hybrid implant restorations made of
IPS e.max lithium disilicate ceramic LS

2

(e.g. IPS e.max

Press) or zirconium oxide ceramic.

Components and their composition
The IPS e.max Abutment Solutions Cem Kit contains the
following components:
– Multilink Implant

®

– self-curing luting composite

with light-curing option
The monomer matrix is composed of dimethacrylate
and HEMA. The inorganic fillers include barium glass,
ytterbium trifluoride and spheroid mixed oxide. The
particle size is between 0.25 and 3.0 µm. The mean
particle size is 0.9 µm. The total volume of inorganic
fillers is approx. 40%.

– Monobond

®

Plus – primer designed for

establishing an adhesive bond between luting
composites and all indirect restorative
materials

Alcohol solution of silane methacrylate, phosphoric
acid methacrylate and sulphide methacrylate

– Liquid Strip – oxygen-impermeable glycerine

gel to prevent the formation of an oxygen-
inhibited layer on composite surfaces

Glycerine gel

– Virtual

®

Extra Light Body Fast Set – polyvinyl

siloxane-based impression material (addition-
curing) for tacking the ceramic meso-structure
on the titanium base as well as for tacking in
place the crown during try-in

Addition-curing silicone containing polyvinyl silo-
xane, hydrogen siloxane, organic platinum complex,
silicate and food colouring

Indication
Permanent luting of hybrid implant restorations.
Tacking of the ceramic meso-structure on the titanium
base as well as tacking in place of the crown during try-
in.

Contraindication
Use is contraindicated
– if the stipulated working technique cannot be

applied;

– if a patient is known to be allergic to any of the

ingredients of Multilink Implant, Monobond Plus and
Virtual Extra Light Body.

Side effects
Multilink Implant, Monobond Plus:

Systemic side effects are not known to date. In
individual cases, allergic reactions to individual
components have been reported.

Interactions
Multilink Implant:

Phenolic substances (e.g. wintergreen oil, eugenol)
inhibit polymerization. Consequently, the application
of materials containing these substances is to be
avoided.

Disinfectants with an oxidative effect (e.g. hydrogen
peroxide) may interact with the initiator system,
which in turn may impair the curing process.
Therefore, the automix syringe must not be dis-
infected using oxidative agents. Disinfection may be
carried out, for instance, by wiping it with medical
alcohol.

Monobond Plus:

If the primer dries up on the surface of the restora-
tion before a strong stream of air has been applied,
the surface needs to be rinsed with pure alcohol and
blown with air.

IMPORTANT! In order to create a strong bond,
do not clean the zirconium oxide surfaces with
phosphoric acid.

To avoid any contamination, Monobond Plus must
not be removed from the bottle directly with a
brush.

Virtual Extra Light Body Fast Set:

The setting of polyvinyl siloxanes is inhibited by
latex gloves.

The surfaces to which the silicone will be applied
(meso-structure, titanium base, etc.) must not be
touched with latex gloves.
