Quick Set-Up
This chapter describes an example configuration and a step-by-step
procedure to configure it. It is unlikely that this configuration will
match yours exactly. Use this chapter as a guide to the process of
installing a QUAD T1 module.
Example Configuration
For this example configuration the following assumptions are
made:
•
That the hardware configuration is an MLS shelf with:
•
An SCM managing the node in slot 1.
•
A QUAD DATA module in slot 2.
•
A QUAD T1 module in slot 3 with a CIM 3003.
•
A QUAD T1 module in slot 4 with a CIM 3064.
•
An IMUX module in slot 5.
•
An M1-3 module in slot 6.
•
That the circuits to be built are:
•
From port 1 of the QUAD DATA module to port 1 of the
first QUAD T1 module (slot 3), for a video codec
application at a rate of 1.536 Mbit/s.
•
From port 3 of the QUAD T1 module to T1 number 6 of the
M1-3 module, connecting a local PBX to a remote site using
one T1 of a T3 circuit.
•
From the data port of the IMUX module to all 4 ports of the
second QUAD T1 module, to support a router at 6.112
Mbit/s.
