Verilink QUAD T1 User Manual

An) AIS 15min threshold Sets the number of Alarm Indication Signal events which will be tolerated in a

15-minute interval. An alarm is declared when this value is reached. Since

Alarm Indication Signal is a received pattern of unframed all-ones, indicating a

failure of the T1, this parameter should be set to a low value.

After a value is entered for 15-minute intervals, the user is prompted to set a

threshold for 24-hour intervals.

Bn) BPV 15min threshold Sets the number of Bipolar Violations which will be tolerated in a 15-minute

interval. An alarm is declared when this value is reached.

After a value is entered for 15-minute intervals, the user is prompted to set a

threshold for 24-hour intervals.

SES 24hr threshold

Vn) line restoral

Meaningful only when a QUAD T1 port is mapped to an IMUX module, this

option selects the parameters for placing a T1 back into service if it has

previously failed, been removed from service, and the alarm has now cleared.

Line restoral should be OFF if the port is not used to map data to an IMUX

module, other selections may interfere with voice signalling bits. Possible

values for line restoral are:

1) OFF -- The port will not be placed back into service until a user visits this

menu and changes this selection. This selection has exactly the same effect as

MANUAL.

2) AUTO -- The port will be placed back into service when both the alarm has

cleared and no new alarms have occurred for the period of time selected for

Clear Interval (below). This is most often the desirable selection.

3) MANUAL -- The port will not be placed back into service until a user visits this

menu and changes this selection. This selection has exactly the same effect as

OFF.

4) TOD -- (Time Of Day) The port will be placed back into service only at the

time indicated in the TOD field (below) and only if it has been clear of alarms

for the value indicated for Clear Interval (below).

Tn) TOD (hh:mm)

Sets the Time Of Day, in 24 hour format, that a T1 will be placed back into

service if it is mapped to an IMUX module, has previously failed, and now meets

the Clear Interval requirement.

Cn) clear interval

Length of time, in seconds, that a line must remain clear of configured alarms

before it becomes eligible to be restored to service. Range is 1 to 1000

seconds.
