12.5 Using the 3-D Touch Probe

Overview

The following touch probe cycles are available in the Manual Operation
mode:

Selecting probe cycles

U

To select the Manual Operation or El. Handwheel mode of operation

U

Select the touch probe functions by pressing the

TOUCH PROBE soft key. The TNC displays additional
soft keys: see table above.

U

To select the probe cycle, press the appropriate soft

key, for example PROBING ROT, and the TNC
displays the associated menu.

HEIDENHAIN only gives warranty for the function of the
probing cycles if HEIDENHAIN touch probes are used.

If you use probing functions in a tilted working plane, you
must set 3-D ROT to Active for the Manual Operation and
Automatic operating modes.
